What runs, and when

Art classes sit inside the same weekly timetable as the dance ones, so you can put a Wednesday craft class next to a Wednesday hip-hop class without leaving the building.

Music & Rhythm

Rhythm, movement, sound and a lot of experimenting. Kids explore beats through clapping, percussion, freestyle, improvisation and playful movement exercises — learning not only how to follow music, but how to play with it.

They'll also get an introduction to music production and discover how sounds, beats and movement can influence each other.

Art & Craft

A creative Wednesday afternoon for kids to experiment, build and make things with their hands. Led by Imanil (@lolzlmaooo), the class moves between drawing, painting, beadwork, bracelets, puzzles, simple woodwork, crafting and whatever new material is worth exploring that week.

Some sessions can move outside, and kids can also bring ideas or school projects they want to work on. No pressure to make something perfect: the point is to try, invent and stay curious.

Film & Photo

Led by Anya, this class grows out of her work in film, photography and movement direction, as well as four years of teaching at a film camp for kids.

Kids explore photography, filming, framing, light, movement, editing and storytelling while gradually developing their own visual language. In a world full of ready-made images, the aim is to help them discover how they want to see, and how they want their own work to look and feel.

They shoot, edit, direct, experiment and leave with projects of their own. The class starts once three kids have signed up, so if you want it to happen, let us know.

DJ Course

Start with the basics, end up making your own mixes. Led by DJ Platinum (@djplatinumzh), the course covers equipment, beatmatching, transitions, track selection and how to build a set that feels like yours, not just a playlist with smoother gaps.

Beginners are welcome.

Weekly Art Sessions

Every Saturday evening the studio becomes a community gathering with a different focus each week: a music jam, a movie night, a vinyl session, a poetry evening. Nothing to sign up to and nothing to be good at.

Why art?

Because AUCH was never meant to be only about dance. Movement, music, film and making things constantly influence each other, so we wanted them to live in the same place.

Same room, different hands

The same studio can become a film set, a music room, a workshop or a place to build something with your hands. The art programme is not an extra next to dance, it is part of the same idea.

It works both ways

The disciplines feed each other. Rhythm helps dancers hear music differently. Film teaches performers to understand the camera. Making things by hand develops patience, imagination and problem-solving. Skills travel from one class into another.

No portfolio needed

No portfolio, previous experience or perfect result required. Nothing is graded, and there is no final presentation unless the group wants one. Come curious and make something.
